Interior Design - Private Home in Lavington
With only one week to recreate the 3 different spaces we have met the challenges: time, budget, limitations on changing some of the existing furniture, veto on wall colours.
Removing the existing curtains, replace with new curtains in same champagne color as the walls to give the impression of space. we moved around the sofa set and positioned a mirror behind the biggest piece: this reflects more light coming through the only window in the room. The wall unit was moved to the dining area and a new simple wooden cabinet was purchased for the TV unit. The dining chairs were reupholstered with champagne and green fabric, finally taking off the outdated maroon covers. we added pieces of art on the walls keeping the colour scheme on the variation of gold, champagne and neutral to avoid clashing with the existing green leather sofa set. The bathroom was the main challenge: a dated square room, with white ceramic tiles on the floor, pink and gray tiles on the wall and salmon on the remaining walls. We had to take a leap of faith and go for the white cabinet and mirror and strictly black accessories: we were not allowed to change tiles unfortunately. Well the result is striking in a very positive way. The only missing part: the coffee table, client still pondering over it. All in all we are happy with the results: we have added some nice pieces to the existing decor, we stayed within budget and the client is delighted with the outcome.
